The Woman, The Mother site began as a blogging journey when I was two years into motherhood and it was originally titled Cars, Trains and Chaos (since I am a boymom all the way!). My vision for my first site was to create a collection of anecdotal experiences of a working mother’s point of view of blending together a career, family life and everything else in between that might add to the “chaos”. In the process of sharing my experience and being faced with some tough life lessons, God placed me on the path of uncovering my own struggles with postpartum depression and anxiety (more inclusively known as Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders).
As I focused on my healing I took a break from blogging and giving direct client care which helped me grow as a woman, mother and clinician. As I evolve so does my site and for 2021 I have been inspired to expand to include clinical services exclusively for new and expectant mothers experiencing a Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders or having difficulty with the transition into motherhood.
I will continue to share personal stories, realizations and clinical information as a form of awareness and to bring a level of connectivity with my audience. Although parts of the site will be more clinical, I want to maintain the personal touch that inspired this path.
I am excited for this journey and look forward to being a facilitator of hope, healing and support for women who choose me to help serve them in such a monumental life experience.
Warmly,
