The Woman, The Mother site began as a blogging journey when I was two years into motherhood and it was originally titled Cars, Trains and Chaos (since I am a boymom all the way!). My vision for my first site was to create a collection of anecdotal experiences of a working mother’s point of view of blending together a career, family life and everything else in between that might add to the “chaos”. In the process of sharing my experience and being faced with some tough life lessons, God placed me on the path of uncovering my own struggles with postpartum depression and anxiety (more inclusively known as Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders).

I took a break from blogging and giving direct client care, to focus on my own treatment, which helped me grow as a woman, mother and clinician. In 2021 I decided to launch my own private practice providing clinical services to new and expectant mothers, in postpartum distress or having difficulty with the transition into motherhood, as well as providing pre-baby counseling to new and expectant couples.

I will continue to share personal stories on my social media platforms and clinical information to continue increasing awareness and to bring a level of connectivity with my audience.

I am excited for this journey and look forward to being a facilitator of hope, healing and support for women and couples who choose me to help serve them in such a monumental life transition.

Warmly,

Virtual Couples’ Therapy for Expectant Parents (Pre-Baby Couples’ Therapy)

Pregnancy and new parenthood impacts a partnership due to many different factors. If the pregnancy is unplanned, there are financial concerns, one or both partners are unprepared mentally and emotionally for parenthood, there are differing opinions on parenting styles and/or there are unaddressed or unresolved relationship issues. Once the baby arrives these areas of concerns may be magnified further negatively impacting the relationship.
